Giampaolo Merciai and the horror writer A.C. Lewis

Built on the highest part of the old hamlet, the Castle dates back to the time of the Lombards in the 10th century. In the 20th century, the Castle was first used as a Courthouse and a Prison and then as a Notary Archieve and Judiciary offices premises.

The Abbey of Goleto in Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi

 

Goleto Abbey was founded by Saint Guglielmo, patron of Irpinia, in 1133. It is located in the town of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi and is one of the most important monuments in the South of Italy.

Ruspoli Castle in Torella dei Lombardi

The first mention of the fortress appeared in an historical document in 1151, its lord was Guaimario Saraceno. The Saraceno family were the owners of the Castle for several centuries. The Castle passed to Domizio Caracciolo in 1550.

San Barbato Castle in Manocalzati

 

The fortress was built by the Lombards in 849. The first mention of the fortress appeared in an historical document in 1146, its lord was a certain Malfrido de Sancto Barbato.

The Castle was transformed into a noble residence in the 16th century.
